New Single! - “If These Strings Could Speak”
It was 50 years ago this summer that the 10 year old me was watching the camp counselors strum their guitars around the bonfire at summer camp that a new fire was ignited and all I could think about for the next 6 months was “I’ve got to get my hands on a guitar”. That fire had already been lit by Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell, Jerry Reed and The Eagles, but that night became a roaring blaze. Now here we are 50 years later celebrating a golden anniversary of life as a guitarist and what better way than with a very special song. “If These Strings Could Speak” is that song as well as the title track of my next album and it’s here for you to stream and download!
"I Dug A Well" Release Date Is May 21,2021
I'm pleased to announce that on Friday May 21 my new album "I Dug A Well" will come gushing forth! I think this will be the guitar album you didn't see coming. 2020 was a rough ride but it's my hope that for 47 minutes on May 21 and beyond, the music from this meticulously crafted album will wash over you and bring some renewed joy and hope into your life. It will be be available for download here and available at all of the major streaming sites (Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, etc) - Sincerely, Robert
10/25/2020 - Tracking For New Album Has Begun
The follow up album to 2017's "The Stuff of Legends" has begun! Whereas the theme for "TSoL" was about my musical heritage... my bio put to music per se' the new album is about forging ahead, mission and legacy. The title of the album is "I Dug A Well" and encapsulates digging deep to tap into a well spring of some of the most inspired music I've ever created. But the story doesn't end there as it has a literal meaning through my support of Charity:water, an organization that provides clean water to villages in developing countries through the digging of wells. Some of the songs were inspired from watching the videos on the Charity:water website as I try to capture the emotion and translate them into music. My main guitar for this album is my Jackson 7 string which is giving a whole new voice to my playing. Just as my slide guitar playing was a primary feature to "TSoL", slide guitar will have a prominent role on "I Dug A Well" also.
I would love to nothing more than to have this album out by the end of the year and end 2020 on a high note, but I won't guarantee that simply because I don't want to rush the process. So I will post updates along the way and we'll see when it lands ya'll! How ever long it takes, I'll do my best to make it worth the wait! Four of the songs are currently in the works.
